Proven Mental Performance Strategies from a Florida Top 10 Competitor

Florida is the global epicenter of elite tennis, where the physical heat is only matched by the intense competitive pressure on the court. My mission is to provide Florida tennis players, coaches, and parents with the same psychological blueprint I used to achieve a Top 10 Florida Open Division ranking. As a licensed psychologist and sports psychologist, I proved that the mental skills I teach—focus, resilience, and emotional control—are the ultimate “equalizers” in high-level competition.

My approach is deeply rooted in the “Gator Standard.” My studies at the University of Florida culminated in a PhD in Clinical & Health Psychology. During my doctoral work in Gainesville, I worked directly with Steve Spurrier’s 1997 National Champion Florida Gators football team. These lessons in psychological resilience and “Smart” preparation became the bedrock of my later work in tennis psychology. Whether you are on a football field or a tennis court, the physiological response to pressure is identical; the mastery of that response is what creates a champion.

A Legacy of Leadership in Florida Psychology

For over 25 years as a licensed psychologist, I have maintained a deep commitment to the professional and athletic culture of Florida:

  • Professional Leadership: Former President of the Palm Beach Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association.
  • “Mental Equipment” on the Air: Produced and hosted the premier mental coaching call-in show on Miami’s WAXY 790 AM and WJNO 1290 AM.
  • Florida Tennis Magazine: Authored over 50 columns on mental toughness for legendary editor Jim Martz.

Mastering the World’s Toughest Junior Circuit

Florida is widely considered the toughest “proving ground” for junior tennis in the world. With hubs like the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton—where I have consulted as the sports psychologist—the competition level is staggering. My mental performance coaching helps Florida families navigate this “pressure cooker,” developing an internal “locus of control” so that a player’s confidence doesn’t fluctuate based on a single ranking update.

Elite Consultation for Florida’s Premier Programs

My clinical and performance expertise has been sought out by Florida’s top-tier programs, including FIU Women’s Tennis, FAU Basketball, and consulting for Miami Dolphins players who require the highest level of clinical optimization.

Your Mental Edge: Based in North Palm Beach, Serving the World

While my professional identity is rooted in the competitive soil of Florida, my practice is truly global. From my base in North Palm Beach, I provide mental performance coaching via Phone and Zoom to athletes across the globe—from California to Pakistan. You don’t need to be in South Florida to benefit from the same techniques that have helped World #1s and National Champions.
